Growing up how many of our readers will remember seeing or giving the trucker arm pump to a truck driver. That magical signal to a truck driver to hit the air horns. I certainly remember seeing and doing that. Many, many years later when I get the opportunity to put my professional driver hat on, I see kids young and old, people of all ages giving that universal signal of the trucker arm pump. It makes the driver and the people doing the signalling feel great !
I remember when I took my professional drivers course at Commercial Safety College , the instructor told us “when you see children giving you the trucker arm pump, you do it lay on the horn” ! The response of the air horns from the driver brings smiles and laughter to all that flash the signal. It makes their day ! You will see smiles and laughter in the faces. For many the trucker arm pump that well known universal signal brings back fond memories of childhood and beyond.
